1988–89 Saint Mary's Gaels men's basketball team

The 1988–89 Saint Mary's Gaels men's basketball team represented Saint Mary's College of California in the 1988–89 college basketball season. The team was led by head coach Lynn Nance, competed in the West Coast Conference and played their home games at the McKeon Pavilion. They finished conference play with a record of 122 to win the regular season conference title. The Gaels received an at-large automatic bid to the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament where they entered as a No. 8 seed West Region. They lost to No. 9 seed Clemson in the opening round to end their season with an overall record of 255.
