2018 Vietnam protests
The 2018 Vietnamese protests took place in June 2018 arising from public anger after a deal with China over new special economic zones and a bill over cyber security. Riots and intense clashes escalated with Riot police as Live ammunition was used on demonstrators while a police crackdown was deployed. Demonstrators clashed with police again on 10-11 June, after a night of protest. Major cities experienced Civil disobedience and police used Tear gas and Birdshot to disperse the protesters while protesters used slogans, Looting and Arson. 1 was killed in the Riots and fighting. The increasingly violent street demonstrations and popular demonstrations characterised by civil unrest took place for another 5 days. Protesters did have a clear demand, the withdrawal of the law and the resignation of the government. Protesters were wounded on the last day of clashes and 3 were in critical condition on 15 June by the Riot police which ceased the demonstrations.[1][2][3]
