2020 Baabda prison escape

On 21 November 2020, 69 inmates escaped from a prison in Baabda, Lebanon.[1]

Escape

To escape, prisoners smashed their cell doors and attacked prison guards.[1] Fifteen escapees were re-arrested and four others gave themselves up.[1] Five others stole a car and crashed it into a tree, killing all of them, as the local police were pursuing them.[1] 45 escapees were not caught.
