A. Pradeepkumar

A. Pradeepkumar is a member of 14th Kerala Legislative Assembly. He belongs to Communist Party of India (Marxist) and represents Kozhikode (North) constituency. He was previously elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly in 2006[1] and in 2011.[2] He lost to M.K Raghavan MP from Kozhikode at the Lokhsabha election 2019.

Political life

He started his political life as a student activist in Students Federation of India. He was the secretary of S.F.I at Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College Unit (1984–86) and Chairman of Calicut University Union. He was a member of Calicut University Senate (1986–87) and secretary, S.F.I. Kozhikode District Committee (1988–90). From 1992 to 1994, he was the vice president of SFI. He has served as a member of District Sports Council, Kozhikode and Kerala State Sports Council.

Kerala Legislative Assembly election, 2016

In the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election, he contested from Kozhikode North, which he had been representing since 2006. He defeated the Indian National Congress Candidate Adv. P.M. Suresh Babu by a margin of 27,873 votes.[3]

Personal life

He was born on 15 May 1964. His parents are Gopalakrishna Kurup and Kamalakshi. He has a bachelor of arts degree. He is married to Akhila and has one daughter. He resides at West Hill, Kozhikode.
