ABES Engineering College ABESEC (formerly known as Academy of Business & Engineering Sciences) was established in year 2000, situated in Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), NCR, India. under the aegis of “Society for Educational Excellence, Ghaziabad”. It is a self-financed private Engineering Institution approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)[1] (Formerly known as “Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow – UPTU” , "Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow- GBTU" and "Mahamaya Technical University, Noida - MTU" )

Institute was started with B.Tech. Program (UG) in three branches i.e.; CSE, ECE & IT with Intake of 180 seats and one PG Program as Master of Computer Application (MCA) with Intake of 40 seats. In the subsequent years, several new Program/Courses have been introduced and concluding to intake of 1512 seats. The present offered Program / Courses with approved Intake are as under:

The institute is recognized for Academic Excellence and was awarded Star Performer Award in the B.Tech. Category for the year 2009, by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University. The institute is ranked among top 10 state affiliated colleges in U.P. by various organizations. The Institute is ranked by NIRF among band 201-250 in Year 2020, earlier also it was ranked by NIRF among Band 151-200 in Year 2017.

History

Academy of Business and Engineering Sciences (ABES) was established in 2000 with MCA, B.Tech. in CS, IT and EC. The institute was approved by AICTE and was affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University. In the following years, other streams of education were added - B.Tech AI in 2001 (later removed in 2009 due to lack of interest), B.Tech ME in 2003, MBA in 2006, B.Tech. EEE in 2008 and M.Tech. in 2010.

In 2009, Academy of Business and Engineering Sciences was renamed to its present name ABES Engineering College. Later in 2010, the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) was bifurcated into two universities viz . Gautam Buddha Technical University(GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University(MTU), with the college coming under the jurisdiction of the latter.[2]

Campus

Insititue's campus, spread over 15.2 acres (62,000 m2), is situated at Lal Kuan, Delhi-Hapur bypass Road, NH-9, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.[3][4]

Events

An annual inter-collegiate technical cum cultural event is organized where students from other colleges across the NCR and the state are invited. Further, many well known performers like Anup Jalota[5] are invited to the college for performance. ABES also hosts a SPIC MACAY chapter and has invited various well-known performers like Kiran Sehgal,[6] Ustad Asad Ali Khan,[7] Qutbi Brothers,[8] Nizami brothers and Saurabh shukla.

Awards

  • Times Research Education Excellence Award 2010 for Best Engineering College in Delhi-NCR for year 2010[9]
