Abdulaziz bin Fahd Al Saud

Abdulaziz bin Fahd Al Saud (Arabic: عبد العزيز بن فهد بن تركي الثاني بن عبد العزيز آل سعود; born 5 December 1990) is a member of the House of Saud and former deputy governor of Al-Jouf region. He was relieved of his post following an anti-corruption committee to investigate “suspicious financial transactions at the defense ministry.[1]

Early life and education

Prince Abdulaziz was born on 5 December 1990. His father is former lieutenant general Prince Fahd bin Turki, former commander of the Saudi Royal Army. His mother is Abeer bint Abdullah, a daughter of late King Abdullah. Abdulaziz's father prince Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz, was keen on his son and his upbringing of grandparents strictly and educating him about history and public affairs since his childhood, as he used to accompany him in all his internal and external visits.[2][3]

He studied in Riyadh schools in the Saudi capital until fourth grade and after that he attended elementary school in Pennsylvania, specifically at Harrisburg Academy for two years.[2] He graduated in 2008.[2] Prince Abdulaziz completed his undergraduate studies in political science at the University of Westminster in London and then completed his masters degree in international relations at Kingston University in London.[2]

Career

During his masters studies Prince Abdulaziz joined political affairs at the embassy of Saudi Arabia in London in the year 2013 for a year and then devoted himself to his own business. He was appointed deputy governor of Al-Jouf Region, with the rank of minister in 2017.[2]

Abdulaziz tenure ended on 31 August 2020 when his father was also dismissed, and sacked by King Salman along with four military officers for investigation into corruption at the defence ministry.[4]
