Abu Saleh (politician)

Abu Saleh (born:1940) (Bengali: আবু ছালেহ) is a Chittagong district politician, one of the organizer of the liberation war, a heroic freedom fighter and a former member of the Constituent Assembly of Bangladesh. He was also a close companion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.[1][2]

Biography

Saleh was born on 1940 at Satkania Upazila under Chittagong district.[3] Abu Saleh was a student leader of Chittagong in the 60s and the organizer of the liberation war. He participated in the National Assembly elections held on 6 December 1970 from Awami League and was elected MNA of Satkania-Kutubdia-Chakaria (N-E-160) upazila. Saleh served as the co-captain of Chittagong South and East during the war of liberation.[3] And also, Saleh served as Chittagong District Chhatra League President and Chittagong South District Awami League General Secretary.[2]
