Abyssinian Development Corporation

Abyssinian Development Corporation (ADC) is a not-for-profit comprehensive community and economic development corporation dedicated to building the human, social, and physical capital in Harlem. It was founded in 1989 by Calvin O. Butts III of the Abyssinian Baptist Church. The organization is considered to be the premier real estate development and social service provider of Harlem. Sheena Wright served as President and CEO from 2002 [1] to 2012.[2] Rev. Reginald L. Bachus, CEO currently serves as CEO and Rev. Butts remains Chairman of the Board.[3]

The organization led efforts to develop the Frederick Douglass Academy for Learning and Social Change in Harlem.
