Action Deaf Youth

Action Deaf Youth (formerly the Northern Ireland Deaf Youth Association) is a youth organization based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1988 to meet the social and educational needs of deaf children and young people.[1][2][3]

  • Youth Service: Run local Youth club in regions throughout Northern Ireland
  • Training Service: Provide provision of personal development, youth leadership, youth work training programs, youth leadership, youth training programs, education workshops, and deaf awareness and sign training
  • Mentor Service: Train adults to become mentors in order to provide guidance for future generations
  • Volunteer Service: Offer opportunities for individuals to carry out volunteer work in our services and project [5]

Action Deaf Youth's affiliation with Controlled School's Support Council

Every year the organization partners with the CSSC to provide better opportunities for children who are deaf. They set to launch a program called Engaging with Sign, so deaf children who go to school can learn sign language and pursue their educational goals in the future and implements this program in 10 primary schools across the Northern Ireland regions.[6]
