Ada Rapoport-Albert

Ada Rapoport-Albert was born in Tel Aviv. She earned her BA and PhD in Jewish History from the University College London, where she was a close student of Professor Joseph G. Weiss, and later became an Associate Professor in Jewish History. In 2002, she became head of the department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies.[2]

Her research, which combined both social and intellectual history, focused primarily upon Hasidism and the history of the Sabbateans. IN both cases she researched related gender studies issues as well.

Rapoport-Albert died in London aged 74.[3]
