Adolf Miesz

Adolf Miesz (born 16 March 1888 Vienna, Austria) was an Austrian-German international football referee.

Career

Miesz officiated matches in the Austrian Football Bundesliga until 1943. He was a FIFA referee in 1928-1941. He officiated the Austrian Cup 1919 final match 6 July 1919 which SK Rapid Wien won Wiener Sport-Club by 3-0. He was nominated as an international referee by the Austrian Football Association and was registered by the International Football Association (FIFA) in 1928–1936 as Austrian and in 1941–1943 as German.[1] He attributed a total of 8 international matches, six of them as Austrian and two of them as German. He attributed two German matches, the second of them in 1941 match between Germany and Croatia (Germany won by 5:1) at the Vienna (German played at home) he represented Germany after Anschluss and he gave a penalty kick against Croatia. Ernst Lehner convert it in 21st minute.[2][3] He retired in 1943.
