Aleko Yordan

Aleko Yordan (Greek: Αλέκος Ιορδάνου; 10 January 1938[1] – 21 September 2019)[2] was a Turkish footballer who played as a defender, best known for his stints with the Turkish club Beykoz, and the Greek club AEK. He is known as Alekos Iordanou in Greece.

Professional career

Yordan was born in Turkey to Greek parents, and began his career with Beyoğlu. He became a stalwart for Beykoz in the newly founded Turkish Süper Lig. In 1962 he moved to Greece with AEK. There he spent his most successful season, helping AEK win the league in 1962 and 1968.[3] Yordan wound down his career in the lower divisions of Greece. He retired from football at the age of 44, and lived in Itea, Phocis with his family.[4]
