He was capped for Norway as a youth international[1] and played for SK Speed, Bækkelagets SK and SFK Lyn in his youth. In 1994, he went to Vålerenga Fotball, where he was assigned a spot in the senior team.[2] He played 11 Norwegian Premier League games over the next seasons.[1] Ahead of the 1997 season he went to Årvoll IL.
