Amitabh Mehrotra

Amitabh Mehrotra is an Indian social worker belonging to the state of Uttar Pradesh. His thrust area of work is disability.

Amitabh was born on 28 March 1965 and was diagnosed as having cerebral palsy at the time of birth. Inspired by his own disability and all the challenges he faced in pursuing his own education made him determined to work on his mission on serving other persons with disabilities. He is a post graduate from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.[1]

He runs an Inclusive school named Jyoti Kiran for children with disabilities and marginalized communities at Lucknow (U.P.) also runs a project on accessing right and entitlements of persons with disabilities related with health education and livelihood social security and nutrition.

A skill development program for persons with disabilities and community based rehabilitation program are also being run under him.[2]
