Analyst's Notebook

IBM Security i2 Analyst's Notebook is a software product from IBM used for data analysis and investigation. It is a software tool based on ELP (entity-link-property) methodology, which gives the user the ability to have insight in relationships between data entities to discover patterns and insight in data. Analyst's Notebook is a common used tool by digital analysts at law enforcement, military and other government intelligence agencies, or at fraud departments. It is a part of the Human Terrain System, a United States Army program which embeds social scientists with combat brigades. Several investigations, including an investigation into fraud in the U.S. Army, are reported to have used Analyst's Notebook capabilities.[1] It is also used by the Swedish police to analyse social contacts and social networks.[2]

IBM acquired the i2 Analyst's Notebook when it bought the i2 Group.
