Anders Mattsson
Anders Mattsson (born 21 January 1943 Åland, Finland) was a retired Finnish international football referee.[1]
Career
He officiated 6 international matches and 2 unofficial international matches. He was FIFA referee in 1970-1983. He attributed a match in 1978 World Cup qualifying, four matches in different European Championship qualifying[2] and others were in friendly matches. He gave a red card in 1984 European Championship qualifying match between Germany-Albania to albanian Genc Tomorri in 48th minute because of unsportsmanlike action and also gave four yellow card to different albanian players.[3] He gave totally 12 yellow card to players and appointed a penalty kick. Mattsson was a referee 1982 U21 European Championship, 1980 Olympic Games. He also was referee in 1972 Nordic Football Championship match between Sweden-Denmark 2:0.
He was referee also club football matches such as European Champion Clubs' Cup (4), UEFA Cup Winners' Cup (3) and UEFA-Cup (9). He officiated 108 matches in Veikkausliiga until 1983 and some matches in Ykkönen.

After career
After his active career Mattsson was President of the Åland Islands Football Association 1989-2009[4] and UEFA inspector. Mattsson was elected to the Finnish Football Hall of Fame in 2016.[5]
Personal life
Anders Mattsson's son is sports journalist Krille Mattsson.
