Andriy Yaroslavovych Melnyk

Andriy Melnyk is a Ukrainian diplomat and politician who has served since December 20, 2014 as the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany.[1]

Biography

Melnyk was born in 1975 in Lviv.[2] He started his diplomatic career in 1999 as second and then first secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria; he left this Embassy in 2003.[2] Between 2005 and 2007 Melnyk worked as an advisor to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko.[2] From then till 2012 he was Consul of Ukraine in Hamburg.[1][2] Between 2012 and 2014 Melnyk worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.[2] In March 2014 he was appointed Deputy Minister of in the first Yatsenyuk Government responsible for European integration.[2][3] On 20 December 2014 a decree by President Petro Poroshenko appointed Melnyk Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany.[1]
