Anton Bucheli

Anton Bucheli (14 September 1929 Lucerne, Switzerland – 8 June 2020[1]) was a Swiss international football referee.[2]

Career

He was member of FIFA in 1962-74 and refereed 11 international matches.[3] He officiated three matches in World Cup qualifying 1970 (1) and 1974 (2), two matches in EURO qualifying 1972 (1) and 1976 (1), six international friendly matches.

In club football, he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as in Champions League (8), UEFA Cup (15) and Cup Winners Cup (8).[4] He refereed 1971 Cup Winners Cup Final replay match played between Chelsea-Real Madrid (2:1). He also officiated 1966 Swiss Cup final.

Personal life

Bucheli was a machine mechanic and worked as an insurance agent.[5]
