Antony Raju

Antony Raju (Malayalam: ആന്റണി രാജു) (born 18 November 1954) is a leader of Janadhipathya Kerala Congress, one of the main factions of the Kerala Congress. He was a member of Kerala legislative assembly during the period 1996-2001 from Thiruvananthapuram West Constituency of Kerala.[2]

Early life and education

He was born on 18 November 1954 in Poonthura, Trivandrum to Smt. Lourdamma and Late Mr. S. Alphonse. He had his early education in St. Thomas School Poonthura, Trivandrum and completed his schooling in Rajagiri School, Kalamassery, Ernakulam.[3] He completed his pre-degree from St.Xavier's College, Thumba, Thiruvananthapuram. And degree from Mar Ivanious College. He graduated in law from Law College, Thriruvanathapuram.

Political career

In 1996, it was LDF’s first political victory in Assembly Election when Adv.Antony Raju contested and won from Trivandrum West Constituency. He had defeated Congress Leader M. M. Hassan in the election and it was indeed a remarkable victory for the LDF.

  • Was the chairman of Handicrafts Development Corporation.
  • Syndicate member of University of Kerala.
