Arboretum Main-Taunus
The Arboretum Main-Taunus (76 hectares) is an arboretum located southwest of Eschborn, Hesse, Germany. The Arboretum lies close to Frankfurt am Main.[1]
The arboretum was begun in 1982 on the site of a former military airport, and had in 2020 over 600 tree and shrub species.
In the arboretum four regions of the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere are represented:
- Western part of North America
- Eastern part of North America
- Asia (Japan, the Himalayas, China
- Europe, Caucasus and Asia Minor
The arboretum is exploited by "HessenForst", the silvicultural department of Hesse.[2]
