He was re-elected to the Hellenic Parliament in the 1977, 1981, 1985, June 1989, November 1989, 1990 and 1993 legislative elections.[1] Kalantzakis served as the Deputy Minister of Coordination and Planning in the Konstantinos Karamanlis government from September 10, 1976 until October 21, 1977.[1] He also held the portfolios of Minister for Trade from October 11, 1980 until October 21, 1981, and Minister of Labor from April 11, 1990 until October 13, 1993.[1]
