Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is a private university located at Namsai.The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh through an Act of State Legislature as the State University under the sponsorship and management of World Education Mission (WEM). The University is duly recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) and is empowered to award degrees specified u/s 22 of UGC Act 1956. AUS is the member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The certifications issued by the University are globally accepted. AUS is the youngest university level institution of India to be accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). AUS enjoys the status of being the 'Extreme North-Eastern University of India and blessed with the affection of Lord Donyi (Sun), as 'The First University to witness the sunrise in India'.

The campus is situated at the serene location of Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh , which is situated at a strategic location within in the proximity of 12 Districts Eastern Arunachal Pradesh , 16 Districts of Upper Assam and 4 Districts of Nagaland. The entire region is dominated by tribal population and most of the students of AUS belonged to the minority and tribal groups. Being one of the very few higher education institutions of the region, AUS has a lot of potentials to give the state an employment opportunity and overall develop the social structure of the region.

AUS is duly approved by Bar Council of India (BCI); Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI); National Council for Teacher’s Education (NCTE); Indian Nursing Council (INC); Pharmacy Council of India (PCI); Directorate or Medical Education & Research, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh; and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM).

The University has entered into Khadi & Village Industry Commission (KVIC); Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE); National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBUD); National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC); National Council for Sports & Youth Development (NCSYD); Aalborg University; Mejo University; Chiangmai University; Northumbria University and Coventry University. History

Considering the acute need to education in the Eastern Arunachal Pradesh and Upper Part of Assam, The World Education Mission a wholly charitable NGO has established Arunachal University of Studies in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. The University has been established by Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh vide the Arunachal University of Studies Act 2012 (No. 9 of 2012) and published in extraordinary official gazette of Arunachal Pradesh on dated the May 30th, 2012.
