Babar Sattar

Babar Sattar is an Islamabad based Jurist and a Judge of Islamabad High Court. Earlier to this he was advocate in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a law professor, columnist and analyst. He was a Rhodes Scholar, having an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School.

Early life and career

Babar was born and grew up in Islamabad, after completing his schooling he went abroad for higher education and graduated in Jurisprudence from Oxford University where he studied as a Rhode scholar. He completed his LL.M. from Harvard Law School and entered in the legal profession. He has been visiting faculty member at Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore (LUMS) and Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. He regularly writes columns on legal and national issues in daily The News International,[1] Dawn, Express Tribune, and Pakistan Today. He remained political and legal analyst on Geo News TV channel.

Appointment as Justice

As a lawyer he contributed and demonstrated a significant role in the bar and society. The President of Pakistan appointed him as Judge of Islamabad High Court,[2][3] Islamabad on 28 December 2020 and he took the oath as Judge of Islamabad High Court on 1 January 2021, along with his fellow judge Mehmood Jahangiri.[4]
