Baldomero Lamela
Baldomero Lamela (1805-1867) was an Argentine soldier, who participated in the Argentine Civil Wars.[1] He had an active participation during Campaign to the Desert led by Juan Manuel de Rosas.[2]

Biography
Lamela was born in Carmen de Areco, son of Marcelo Lamela and Francisca Antonia Raña, belonging to a distinguished family of Spanish Creoles. He married Saturnina Luengo, born in Montevideo.[3] His son Baldomero Lamela Luengo (1838-1901) was Intendant of Areco, and served as officer in the Argentine Army, participating in the Paraguayan War and Conquest of the Desert.[4]
Lamela fought against the forces of Juan Lavalle, and participated in the Battle of Márquez Bridge under the orders of Juan Manuel de Rosas. He also participated in the Battle of Quebracho Herrado.[5]
In 1838, Baldomero Lamela had been appointed by Rosas as judge of peace of Areco,[6] a village populated mostly by Creoles but also Italians, French, English, Irish (numerous community), and some Americans.[7]
