Bergen Oilfield Services AS (BOS) is a Norwegian offshore seismic survey company with a focus on subsea technology commercialisation. BOS owned their three vessels and undertook the data acquisition through to processing. BOS's QHSE policies and procedures are developed to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and as an IAGC member, BOS followed IAGC standards.

BOS was declared bankrupt on 11 May 2011.[1]

History

Formed in 2006, BOS has office locations in Bergen and Oslo, Norway; Driebergen, Netherlands; Farnborough-Hampshire, UK; Houston, USA and Singapore.[2] BOS also has representation in Italy; Chennai, India and Jakarta, Indonesia.[3] In this short time, BOS has refurbished two seismic vessels: BOS Arctic (3D) and BOS Atlantic (2D) and they are operational and delivering services for clients. BOS Angler will be refurbished toward the end of 2008. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2011.

Vessels

BOS owns three vessels as part of its fleet:[4]

  • BOS Atlantic is a 2D seismic vessel with one 12,000 m streamer. On 14 May 2008, BOS Atlantic was given its new name by the original godmother Inger Marie Møgster. Directly after the ceremony the vessel set sail to commence its first contract as BOS Atlantic for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
  • BOS Arctic is a 3D seismic vessel with six 8,100 m streamers. The vessel was launched in June 2008. In 2010, the vessel moved to India for a Reliance 3D contract.[5]
  • BOS Angler is a new type of exploration and imaging vessel in the search for oil and gas globally. The vessel was launched in December 2008.
