Bert van de Kamp

Bert van de Kamp (8 March 1947 – 9 April 2020) was a Dutch music journalist, known for his interviews with pop stars in the Dutch Muziekkrant OOR.

Career

Van de Kamp was born in Rotterdam. In 1972 he won the Wordt Popjournalist en Vlieg naar Londen! (a prize that allowed the winner to become a pop music journalist and fly to London), resulting in his first story: an interview with John Entwistle of The Who.

From 1973 to 1977 he was writer of Muziekkrant OOR. He wrote about many music styles; of hardrock to singer-songwriters. He wrote about big music names (among others: Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, David Bowie, U2) and less known music artists and groups (among others: Van der Graaf Generator, Dead Moon and Townes Van Zandt)

From 1977 to 1980 he was correspondent in London for Muziekkrant OOR and the KRO radio and television magazine Studio.

In 1995 he won the first Pop Pers Prijs.

Bert van de Kamp died in Utrecht, aged 73.[1][2][3]
