BigBasket is an Indian online grocery delivery service.[3] The company primarily delivers grocery goods found in convenience stores, home essentials and food supplies to its customers. bigBasket was founded in December 2011 and has its headquarters in Bangalore, India.[4][5]

History

bigbasket company was founded by V S Sudhakar, Hari Menon, Vipul Parekh, Abhinay Choudhari and V S Ramesh in 2011.[6] In 2011 they launched bigbasket online grocery delivery service.[7][8][9]

In March 2020, they acquired micro-delivery firm, DailyNinja.[10][11]

Controversy

In October 2020 bigbasket faced a data breach that affected the data of over 2 crore customers which includes email IDs, full names, IP addresses.[12] Later as per Cybersecurity firm the database was on sale on the dark web.[13]
