Brandon Tanev
Brandon T. Tanev (born December 31, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Playing career
Providence College
Tanev began his collegiate career during the 2012–13 season with Providence College. He scored his first collegiate goal on November 2, 2012 against Vermont.[1]
During the 2015 NCAA Championship game, Tanev scored the game-winning goal to give the Providence Friars their first ever national title.[2] On April 13, 2015, he was named Hockey East Player of the Week.[3] Tanev recorded his first collegiate two-goal game on February 26, 2016 against UMass.[4]
Winnipeg Jets
On March 30, 2016, Tanev signed with the Winnipeg Jets.[5] Tanev appeared in 3 games for the club to finish out the season.
In his first full professional season, Tanev split time between the Jets and the team's AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose. On November 4, 2016 Tanev scored his first two NHL goals in a 5–3 victory against the Detroit Red Wings.[6] Tanev finished the season with 4 points (2G, 2A) in 51 games for the Jets, and 9 points (2G, 7A) in 23 games for the Moose.
On July 10, 2017, the Jets re-signed Tanev to a one-year, one-way contract worth $700,000.[7]
On March 27, 2018, Tanev scored his first career NHL hat trick, in a 5–4 shootout win over the Boston Bruins.[8] On July 22, 2018, the Jets re-signed Tanev to a one-year, $1.15 million contract extension.[9]
Pittsburgh Penguins
On July 1, 2019, Tanev left the Jets and signed as a free agent to a six-year, $21 million contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins.[10] Tanev scored his first goal with the Penguins, an overtime winner, on October 16, 2019 against the Colorado Avalanche.[11]
Personal life
Tanev's older brother Christopher is a defenceman currently playing for the Calgary Flames.[12]
Tanev is of Macedonian descent.[13]
