Brendan Reilly (Gaelic footballer)

Brendan Reilly (5 January 1979 – 16 September 2017) was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He came from a well known farming family outside Ardee, Co. Louth and was a popular figure in the area. He played at club level with his local team John Mitchels (partly founded by his father Eugene) and later Naomh Máirtín. His skillful displays on the field got him noticed and he moved up the ranks, proudly representing his county Louth at senior level for several years. Brendan died suddenly after becoming ill after leading his Naomh Martin team to a victorious semi-final win. He was laid to rest in Monasterboice and is survived by his wife and children. [1]
