Buyantogtokh Sumiya

Buyantogtokhyn Sumiyaa also written as Buyantogtokh Sumiya (born 25 January 1999) is a Mongolian long track speed skater, who was is active since 2010. Sumiyaa represents Mongolia at international competitions. As of December 2020, Sumiyaa improved a three Mongolian speed skating records.

As a junior Sumiyaa became four times national junior champion and participated at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics and ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating events. Sumiya became the first Mongolian athlete who won a Winter Olympic medal when she and her teammates Noemi Bonazza from Italy, Shen Hanyang from China and Chung Jae-woong from South Korea won the mixed team sprint of the 2016 Winter Youth Games.[1] She competed at the 2017 Asian Winter Games in the 500 metres event (finishing 15th), 1000 metres event (finishing 16th) and 1500 metres event (finishing 16th).[2] She also competed at other international competitions, including at ISU Speed Skating World Cups.[2] She became national champion at the 2017 Mongolian Allround Championships and won the silver medal at the 2017 Mongolian Sprint Championships.[2]
