Carlos Vega Belgrano

Carlos Vega Belgrano (1858 – 1930) was an Argentine lawyer, activist, journalist,[1] and politician who held the position of vice president of the Radical Party in 1896.[2] He had a long career as a journalist director of the La Revista Nacional and El Tiempo, an evening newspaper founded by him.[3]

He was born in Buenos Aires, the son of Manuel Vega Belgrano and Manuela Belgrano Helguero, the natural daughter of Manuel Belgrano and María de los Dolores Helguero.[4] He was member and president of the Ateneo, an extinct cultural institution of Buenos Aires.[5] He also held various public positions, including as member of the General Council of Education[6] and Argentine Consul in the German Empire.[7]
