Cate Bauer

Catherine Mary Bauer (née Cotter; born September 1, 1929), better known as Cate Bauer, is an American former actress on stage, film and television. She is best known for voicing the character Perdita in the animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961).[3]

Life and career

Bauer was born as Catherine Mary Cotter in New York City, New York in September 1929[4][5] to an Irishman James J. Cotter (died 1954)[6] and Lucy J. Cotter (died 1984),[7] an Englishwoman.

Her early roles included Martha in a 1951 stage production of The Life of Christ at the Oakland Civic Auditorium in Oakland, California.[8][9] In 1959 she appeared in the television series The Third Man, playing the character of Miss Hidwick in the episode "How to Buy a Country". Her most famous role however, came from voicing Perdita in the 1961 animated Disney film One Hundred and One Dalmatians.[10]

She married Karel Miroslav Bauer (1929–2007) in 1953. As of 1996, Bauer was living in Seattle, Washington.[11]
