Cees de Bruin

Cees de Bruin (29 March 1946 — 24 June 2020) was a Dutch financier and investor. He was a billionaire in the Netherlands.[1]

De Bruin was born in Rotterdam.[1] Business magazine Quote estimated his assets at over 1.2 billion euros. De Bruin founded investment company: “Indofin”. The company has worldwide interests in shipping, shipbuilding, energy, agriculture, IT and real estate. A few years before his death, De Bruin gave the day-to-day management to his daughter Belle.[2][1]

De Bruin was the major shareholder of shipbuilder Royal IHC. He lost that position after a conflict with people within the company and the main customers. A group of investors and customers took over the company, including the debts, for € 1.[2]

De Bruin was involved in building a new stadium for football club Feyenoord, one of the biggest football clubs in the Netherlands. He was active at equestrian event Concours Hippique International Officiel (CHIO) in Rotterdam. He was a CHIO member of honor.[3] He also had a large private art collection.[2]

For all the works he did for the city Rotterdam, he received the “K.P. van der Mandele penning” in 2016.[1]

De Bruin died on 24 June 2020, aged 74.[2][4]
