Chauhan (surname)
Chauhan or Chohan or Chuhan or Chavan (Devanagari: चौहान, Nepali: चुहान, Marathi: चव्हाण) is a surname predominantly found in the Indian subcontinent.
In Nepal, Chauhans are considered as Bista, a member of high caste (i.e. Chhetri) in a Nepalese governmental orders of capital punishment on Poush Badi 12, 1882 V.S. (1826 A.D.).[1]
