Chris Gosden

Christopher Hugh Gosden FBA[1] (born 1955) is a British archaeologist specialising in the archaeology of identity, particularly English identity. He is Professor of European Archaeology and Director of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Oxford.[2] He is also a trustee of the British Museum.[3]

Gosden was born in 1955.[4] He studied archaeology at the University of Sheffield, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1977 and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 1983.[4]
