Objectives
The organization's stated mission is to raise the youth to "walk in their destinies, and grow in the knowledge of God."[3][4][5]
History
Christ Symbolic Union was founded by Vinny Max Bani.[6] The organization was officially inaugurated on Friday, October 10, 2008 at St. Andrews Junior High School, Madina, Ghana.[7]
Structure
The organization's curriculum is school-based. Running a total of four distinctive classes, members from one class are promoted to the next after they meet the necessary requirements and are able to pass their set examinations. The classes include Schools Ministry, Gospel Holiday School of Ministry, Truth Exposition, and Discipleship Class.[7][2]
Projects
Be a Symbol Tour
The organization uses this as an avenue to reach out to the less privileged communities to share social amenities with them as well as to proselytize.[8]
Controversies
In 2016, the head of the Ghana Education System tagged a book written by the founder as containing occult doctrines and ordered it removal from various schools.[11] Claims that the organization was occult rose in some Senior High Schools.[12] These were however debunked shortly after.[13][14]
