Chus Bravo

Jesús Manuel 'Chus' Bravo Suárez (born 3 May 1979 in Gijón, Asturias) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central defender.

In this Spanish name, the first or paternal surname is Bravo and the second or maternal family name is Suárez.

Club career

Bravo began playing football for Club de Fútbol Estudiantes de Somió and subsequently joined the youth program at Sporting Gijón in 1994. He stayed at Sporting until 1998, when he moved on loan to Langreo for the 1998-99 season. He then returned to Sporting the following season and in 2000, injuries prevented him from debuting for the first team under Vicente Cantatore. Injuries became a common theme for Bravo as he underwent surgery up to six times for various reasons during his sports career.

In June 2006, he renewed with Sporting for two more years with the option of a third. When the option was not picked up by the club in 2008, he signed for Mérida. In the summer of 2009, he signed for Cultural Leonesa, where he remained until June 2010 when he moved to Caudal. He retired from football in 2011.
