Cindy Marten
Cindy Marten is an American educator who has served as the superintendent of the San Diego Unified School District since 2013. She is President Joe Biden's nominee for United States Deputy Secretary of Education. Before 2013, Marten worked as a schoolteacher for 17 years.[1][2][3]

Marten earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and master's degree in teaching and learning from the University of California, San Diego.[4]
