Constellation Energy League

The Constellation Energy League was an Independent Baseball league that operated in Texas in 2020 because of COVID restrictions limiting travel and as a way to offer opportunities for minor league players.[1] The league consisted of four teams: Sugar Land Skeeters, Team Texas, Sugar Land Lightning Sloths, and Eastern Reyes del Tigre.[2] The teams were made up of former Major League Baseball players as well as other minor league and independent professional players. The league's 2020 season began before the Major League Baseball season, on July 10th.[3]

The League played their games at Constellation Field.[4] Parking was included with ticket prices to limit staff and fan interactions and up to 1800 ticket-holders were seated in a socially distanced fashion within the 7500-seat stadium.[5] The schedule was a 28-game schedule with seven-inning double-headers played every weekend.[6]
