DJ Static (American DJ)

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, to Kathleen Ann Moore and Willie Joe Gillespie. He and his mother and baby sister mostly stayed with his grandmother Grace M. Moore and family members in the downtown area neighborhood called The Carr Square Village and the Vaughan Housing Projects. Mostly blacks neighborhood and attended schools at Jefferson Elementary School and Blewett Middle School and Vashon High School as well as Jennings High School. He returned to Vashon where he played sports that included football and basketball, plus the track and wrestling teams.

He started in the entertainment business in the early 1990s. His big break came in the fall of 1993 to appear on the radio to Clear Channel and Chapter Communication. He had left the music business and entertainment to work in security, then returned to music. Where his passion in heart where at work all the most hottest clubs on both sides of the river East St. Louis to St. Louis after years of hard work Static left St. Louis and moved to Raytown, Missouri, and started working at Carter Communications, a black-owned family business, which own the Kansas City radio station Majic 104.1. He worked there for two years and also did online radio. From there move to Des Moines, Iowa to work at The Q 96.1. After a few months Static decided to return to St. Louis, to be there for his younger daughter and her illness. After the death of his daughter he left entertainment again. In 2017, he married Loretta Griffin, and both are still in the St. Louis area, and Static returned to entertainment.
