Danur 2: Maddah

Danur 2: Maddah is a 2018 Indonesian supernatural horror film directed by Awi Suryadi and written by Lele Laila. The film stars Prilly Latuconsina, Sandrinna Michelle and Shawri Adrian Khulafa in leading roles with Sophia Latjuba, Bucek Depp, and Gama Haritz in supporting roles. The film is the sequel to the 2017 film Danur: I Can See Ghosts,[1][2][3][4][5] and is followed by Danur 3: Sunyaruri in 2019.[6][7][8][9][10]

Plot

A year after the bedlams of her revisit to her childhood house, Risa lives with Riri as well as Peter, William, and Janshen, at Bandung. Due to Elly going overseas to meet with her husband, they usually visit their aunt Tina's house. Tina lives with her husband Ahmad and son Angki. Riri, a ballet rookie, enrages when Risa shouts amidst her stage performance, as there is a ghost behind her. Meanwhile, Peter, William, and Janshen meets fellow ghost peers Hendrick and Hans.

Risa slowly turns suspicious towards Ahmad, who suddenly turned introvert, as well as frequently scattering tuberose vases all over the house. Risa spots Ahmad walking with a woman, absorbing scents of infidelity to her. Strange things happen throughout the house as well; its climax impacts Tina as she becomes traumatized meeting with a ghost, mandating her to be hospitalized. At the hospital, Risa meets a corpse cleaner who also has the ability to interact with ghosts; he explains that cunning ghosts can choose whether or not their danur be able to get in contact to a human's senses, suggesting she practice madah, which is to deepen one's powers.

Sick with the recent familial events, Angki urges Risa to use her sixth sense to know what's really happening. Risa opens her body for a ghost; the ghost tells Angki that not long later she will kill Ahmad. Risa shows to Angki a diary she took from Ahmad days ago. In it, Ahmad claims to worship a woman named Elizabeth, who will soon commence her 23rd birthday; Ahmad plans to "meet" with her. Observing Elizabeth's photo, Ahmad notes that she is identical with Ahmad's ex-girlfriend. Gathering the diary and a peculiar photo Riri found days ago, Risa suspects that Elizabeth is a 1903-born Dutch woman who plans to kill Ahmad in an exchange for a new spouse. Risa rushes and saves Ahmad, tearing all photos of any Dutch women in the house. Ahmad is later possessed; Risa is helped by her friends to rescue Ahmad from Elizabeth just as she is horrified by a near-death experience. After the rescue, Ahmad goes and tears up the book in order to ravage Elizabeth's spirit.

Arrived home, Risa's ghost friends introduces her to Ivanna, one of the Dutch women she saw in a photo. Ivanna explains that her brother, Dimas, was Elizabeth's boyfriend. Dimas is killed by Elizabeth's father who did not agree with their relationship, and Ivanna cuts off her family from Elizabeth's since then.

On an unknown date, Risa, her friends, Tina, Ahmad, and Angki visits the theater to watch Riri's ballet performance. Risa sees Canting, the theater's ghost.
