Darbhanga Public School

Darbhanga Public School is an Indian CBSE affiliated English medium co-educational school of the district (Darbhanga) and Mithila, established on 5 January 2000.[3] The region has been an ancient seat of learning.[4] The School was established by a team of devoted and dedicated persons from a cross-section of the society to restore the past glory of the region and to take it to new heights of achievement.[5]

About the school

The school has a proud history of over 15 years in the space of education.[6] It was started by an eminent team of educationists The Darbhanga Public School is founded by Dr. Lal Mohan Jha who was the principal of C.M.Science College and ex-director of Women's Institute of Technology, who is currently chairman of the school.[7] In last 18 years; the school has established itself as a premier education center of entire Mithilanchal.[8] Over 2000 alumni of the school today are working in different regions and spheres across the globe.[9] Right from the inception, the school has always believed in grooming the students[10] for an effective personality; which will enable them to make a mark not just in Darbhanga or Mithila; but anywhere in the world.[11] This land is endowed with merit; and the endeavour of the school has always been to hone the raw talent in order to prepare them best for life.[12]

Motto of the school

Motto of the School is - “Manifestation of Perfection.” The motto is derived from a famous quote of Swami Vivekananda – “Education is the manifestation of perfection already present in man”.[13] Something is said to be manifested only when it finds an expression.[14] School believes that mere intellectualization of concepts and ideas do not suffice. True education is to see that the learning has manifested in us and our works.[15]

Outlook on education

To make education meaningful, School believes, education has to be in the context of social realities. Keeping in view the ideals of democracy and our ancient culture, Darbhanga Public School strives to provide a system of education most suited to the needs of our society today. School believes in the blend of values and technology.[16] Stress on diverse methods of teaching for different categories of students, opportunities for shouldering responsibilities in school life, constant participation in games and sports, a wide range of cultural and co-curricular activities lend meaning to our school life.[17] Thus, the end product is the harmonious, all-round developed the personality of our students poised on the threshold of life.[18]
