David and Bethsabe

David and Bethsabe is a play by George Peele, written in 1588 and printed posthumously in quarto by John Islip 1599. It is based on the Biblical story of David and Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11 and 12. While the Bible was common subject matter in the English Renaissance theatre, it is one of few such plays extant.
