The company does not own its own fleet, but works with local drivers from different countries. Daytrip enables travelers to prepare an itinerary using Daytrip's comprehensive database of points of interest between two cities. Daytrip then connects travelers with a driver who provides not only door-to-door transportation, but also insight into local culture from their unique point of view.[2] The company currently operates in 9 countries with plans to expand domestically and internationally.[3]

History

Daytrip was founded in September 2015 and launched its service in 6 Central European countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary.[2] Later, Daytrip added connections between Slovenia, Croatia and Italy. Currently Daytrip operates in more than 40 countries across Europe and Southeast Asia.

During the first year the company has transported over 8,000 passengers.[4]

Features

The website offers the travelers the possibility to book a customized itinerary.[5] Customers are required to choose the start and end point of their travels. Based on the submitted data, the platform assigns a driver from the specified region and the proper vehicle size from one of three categories (based on number of passengers).
