Debonair Afrik

Debonair Afrik (stylised as debonairafrik) is a Ghanaian based digital media publication dedicated to fashion, lifestyle, publishing, and events.[1] It was founded in 2015 by the editor-in-chief, Emmanuel Ekuban (Nuel Bans),[2][3] as a neo-Africanism publication. It is a popular online news portal for Ghanaians and widely acknowledged by the Sub-Saharan region.[4]

History

Debonair Afrik was founded by fashion writer and creative, Nuel Bans in 2015 whiles studying as an international language student at Alliance française D'Accra as a digital fashion magazine and later evolved into several fields in the creative industry.[5][6] The publication was established to fill the gap and highlight relevant fashion news on the continent, primarily targeted at professionals and young people.

From 2015 till date Debonair Afrik has extensively covered stories on designers, models, stylist photographer, makeup artistes, celebrities and trends with a neo-African lens and continues set standards in the digital space.[7] During its early days, the platform only concentrated on curating content and publishing magazine articles but later established its editorial and creative arm to churn out content for its growing audience.[8][9]

Style Lounge

Style Lounge platform is an annual workshop by the magazine for the social, educational and cultural integration of designers, photographers, models and others in the fashion industry.

For five years, the curated Style Lounge Weekend Initiative has been supporting upcoming and established fashion talents through various fashion shows, trade events and workshops.[10] Several fashion insiders including Aisha Ayensu of Christie Brown, Empress Jamilla and Sandra Alexandrina Don-Arthur have been guest panellists on the show.[11]

Style Lounge seeks to disseminate knowledge, both practical and theory to everyone and to foster healthy relationships among designers, models and everyone at large.

Vogue Italia called the fashion show "a thrilling and exciting experience for Sustainable fashion" [13]
