Dennis Showalter

Showalter began teaching at Colorado College in 1969.[3] Showalter also previously taught at the United States Air Force Academy, the United States Military Academy, and the Marine Corps University.[6] He wrote extensively on the wars of Frederick the Great, the German Wars of Unification, World War I, and World War II.

• 1992 Paul Birdsall Prize for best new book given by the American Historical Association, for Tannenberg[6]
• 2005 Samuel Eliot Morison Prize for lifetime achievement given by the Society for Military History[7]
• 2018 Pritzker Literature Award[8][9]
