Music video

Background and synopsis

The music video was released on 4 December 2013,[1][2] and directed by Sylvain Bressollette. It was filmed in Paris, France.

In the video, Indila is expelled from house by a woman, with her suitcase (the suitcase apparently appeared in several Indila's songs). Despairing by her dismissal from her job, Indila is belittled by people around her. A passerby collided with her in a disregarding manner. In the middle of video, an apocalyptic-themed fog stormed around the city as people shouting and running. She manages to dare the fog by approaching it and stood in front of it, but she overwhelmed the storm and vanish it. At the final, she returned with her suitcase and captions "I N D I L A".[3]

The video has 700 million views as of 9 January 2021[4]

Lyric video

A lyric video was uploaded on the artist's Vevo channel simultaneously on the release day of the song.[5] The video starts off with the title and a sketched version of the singer and a fade-out to black after the song finishes. There is also a Germany-only re-release of the music video provided with German subtitles released after the premiere of the original music video.[6]

Chart performance

On 1 March 2014, it entered the Greek charts at number-one and spent seven weeks at number one.[7] On 19 April 2014, it was knocked down to No. 2 by Pharrell Williams' Happy.[8] It reclaimed No. 1 the following week,[9] and remained there for another five weeks, totaling at thirteen weeks at No. 1.[10]
