Diego E. Thompson

Diego E. Thompson (1871   1939) was an Argentine doctor and politician who served for several periods as mayor of San Martín, a district of the Greater Buenos Aires.[1] The homonymous Hospital in San Martín bears his name in his honor.[2] He had a long career as a politician of the Partido Conservador, serving a municipal councilor, senator and provincial deputy. and like presidential elector during the 1928 elections in representation of Leopoldo Melo, candidate of the Frente Único.[3]

He was born in Lobos, Buenos Aires Province, the son of Valentín Thompson and Benita Cárdenas, belonging to a distinguished family of landowners from London and Buenos Aires.[4] He was married to Teresa Marcó, daughter of Jaime Marcó and Teresa Laurel, belonging to a family of Spanish immigrants.[5]
