Donelson Hoopes

Donelson Farquhar Hoopes (December 3, 1932 – February 22, 2006) was an American curator of painting. His 1964 exhibition The Private World of John Singer Sargent at the Corcoran Gallery of Art is credited with restoring the reputation of Sargent, a realist who had fallen out of favor following Impressionism.
