Double K (American musician)

Mike Turner (August 1, 1977 – January 30, 2021), best known as Double K, was one half of hip hop duo People Under The Stairs, serving as a vocalist/MC, DJ, and producer. He recorded and produced 10 albums and over 20+ singles, EPs, and compilations with People Under The Stairs. He also recorded and produced two solo albums as LA Mike, "Uhh, I Hope Y'all Got Your Sunglasses On Out There" (2002) and "Clinophobia" (2017).

Turner was a producer and DJ for People Under The Stairs, Villain Park, Kidd Lexus, and Blvme. He was older brother of Villain Park group members and first cousin of celebrated Los Angeles producer, Computer Jay. He produced the very first solo song by Murs called "Red Dots" in 1996. In the garage of his own home, Double K recorded George Clinton of Parliament for his appearance on the People Under The Stairs album Stepfather. He also recorded an album with legendary breakbeat pioneer, Dooley O called the "Double-O Project" that was never released. Double K was a life long Parliament Funkadelic fan (Historian) and also an official member of George Clinton's Funk Mob. His musical aliases include: Hale Bop, LA Mike, K K, Big Mike, Kidd Drunkadelic and K Dub.

On January 30, 2021 Turner passed away at his home from unknown causes.[1][2]
